Chemical Name:Tetramethylthiuram Disulfide
Molecular Formula:C6H12N2S4
Molecular Weight: 240.41
CAS No.:137-26-8
Properties
White to off-white powder (granules) with a relative density of 1.29. Soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, and carbon disulfide; slightly soluble in ethanol, ether, and carbon tetrachloride; insoluble in water, gasoline, or dilute alkali. When heated with water, it decomposes to form dimethylamine and carbon disulfide. Irritating to the respiratory tract and skin.
Application
Used as an ultra-vulcanization accelerator in the rubber industry. Often used in combination with thiazole accelerators, or with other accelerators as a continuous compound accelerator. Since it slowly releases free sulfur when heated above 100°C, it can also act as a vulcanizing agent. Products have excellent aging resistance and heat resistance. Suitable for natural rubber and synthetic rubber, mainly used in manufacturing tires, inner tubes, rubber shoes, cables, and other industrial products. In agriculture, it is used as a fungicide and insecticide; also used as a lubricating oil additive.
Packaging
25kg /bag.
Storage
Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well - ventilated place.
The recommended max. storage life is 2 years when stored under normal conditions.
