Properties
White powder (granule). No taste, no poison. Density is 1.66. Soluble in lower concentration alkali, CS2, benzene, acetone and CH2Cl2, partly soluble in chloroform, insoluble in alcohol, CCl4 and ethyl acetate
Application
Used for NR, IR, BR, SBR, NBR, HR, EPDM, and natural & synthetic latexes. It exhibits stronger accelerating power than a TMTD-type accelerator while maintaining strong resistance to scorching. In handling, care should be taken due to its increased activation and strong tendency to scorch at low temperatures (around 100°C). It is often employed as a secondary accelerator. In latex systems, better results are achieved when used in combination with other accelerators such as thiazole types. Suitable for applications including rubber-coated fabrics, latex products, and rubber cement. Approved by the FDA in the USA.
